Cadet Corps and Youth Training
Established in 2000, the Cadet Corps Side Drum Team aims at cultivating the various interests of the cadets and thereby diversifying their development. Members of the Side Drum Team is recruited from different companies. Mainly composed of the bass and side drums from the CAS Band, the team also employs other instruments such as horns and bagpipes to add variety to the performance.
The Side Drum Team often participates in various large-scale events and performances, including the Correctional Services Department’s annual fair, Government Flying Service’s Open Day and the CAS’s Mountain Safety Promotion Day, so as to contribute to the activities of government departments and organisations. In addition, the Team also participates in exchange performances in the Mainland and has been received widespread praise.
